Fans of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan are in for another wait as Hari Hara Veera Mallu, the epic period action flick, has been delayed yet again. Originally set to hit theaters on June 12, 2025, the film is now looking at July 4 or July 11, 2025, for its big debut. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A.M. Jyothi Krishna, this ambitious pan-India project has been in the works for over six years, and it’s been a bumpy ride with financial hiccups and unfinished visual effects keeping things on hold. It’s testing the patience of fans who can’t wait to see Pawan Kalyan as the legendary outlaw Veera Mallu.
The movie, backed by A.M. Rathnam’s Mega Surya Production, has hit some serious snags. Getting theaters on board, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, has been tough. Rathnam, who hasn’t produced a film in a while, is finding it hard to lock in distribution deals because of the movie’s massive budget and long production timeline. Word is, some big names close to Pawan Kalyan offered to step in and sort out the financial mess, but Rathnam’s not sharing the full details on what’s owed, which is slowing things down. Meanwhile, Amazon Prime, which snagged the streaming rights for a hefty price, is reportedly nudging Rathnam to tweak the deal if the June deadline slips, adding more pressure to stick the landing in July.
The film’s VFX work is another big hurdle. Set in the 17th-century Mughal Empire, Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Sword vs Spirit is the first of a two-part saga packed with action and drama, so the visuals need to be spot-on. Even though Pawan Kalyan wrapped his dubbing in a lightning-fast four hours and the shoot is done, Ascendancy by May 2025, the VFX isn’t quite ready, which is a major reason for the delay. Fans are also frustrated by the lack of buzz—no trailer yet, and the first single, “Maata Vinaali” by M.M. Keeravani, didn’t exactly set the internet on fire. X posts are full of fans venting about the endless postponements and the quiet marketing.
With a killer cast like Nidhhi Agerwal and Bobby Deol alongside Pawan Kalyan, this movie has all the makings of a blockbuster. But with these ongoing delays, it’s a waiting game to see if July 2025 will finally bring Veera Mallu’s story to the big screen. Here’s hoping the team pulls it together for a release worth the hype.
