Anushka Shetty is all set to make a big splash with her upcoming action-crime drama Ghaati, hitting theaters on July 11, 2025. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and brought to life by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, this gritty thriller has fans buzzing with its intense vibe and Anushka’s fierce new look. After some jaw-dropping posters and teasers, the excitement for this pan-Indian film is through the roof, and it’s shaping up to be a major highlight of the year.

The film was originally planned for April 18, 2025, but the team pushed it to July to polish the post-production, especially the action-packed sequences and visuals. On June 2, 2025, they dropped the new release date alongside a killer poster that’s got everyone talking. It shows Anushka, Tamil star Vikram Prabhu, and others trudging through a river, hauling heavy jute bags, with a rugged, intense vibe. The tagline “Victim. Criminal. Legend.” sums up the film’s vibe perfectly, hinting at a wild journey of transformation.

The teasers so far have been pure fire. On Anushka’s birthday, November 7, 2024, a 47-second glimpse showed her rocking a tribal look—saree, traditional jewelry, and a bold forearm tattoo—as a fierce “Queen of the Valley” caught up in the cannabis trade along the Andhra-Odisha border. Another teaser from December 15, 2024, ended with her character swinging a sickle in a chilling scene, staring down the camera like a total badass. These clips scream a story about a woman who goes from victim to a larger-than-life legend, and fans are here for it.

Krish Jagarlamudi, who teamed up with Anushka before on the 2010 hit Vedam, is calling Ghaati one of his most intense projects yet. He’s diving deep into the messy world of smuggling and illegal ganja trade in Uttarandhra, exploring survival and the blurry line between right and wrong. The story, written by Chintakindi Srinivas Rao with dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra, promises a mix of raw emotion and high-octane action. Anushka’s role sounds like a powerhouse, blending grit with heart.

The cast is loaded with talent—Vikram Prabhu makes his Telugu debut as Desi Raju, joined by heavyweights like Ramya Krishnan, Jagapathi Babu, and John Vijay. The technical crew is top-notch too, with Manojh Reddy Katasani on cinematography, Nagavelli Vidya Sagar handling the music, and Thota Tharrani crafting the film’s rugged, tribal-inspired look. The haunting background score and visuals are already setting the perfect mood.

After her super-fun Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty in 2023, Anushka took a short break before jumping into Ghaati, and it’s clear she’s coming back with a bang. The film’s going big, releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. With more promos on the way, the hype is only going to grow.

Ghaati looks like a bold, thrilling ride with Anushka stealing the show. Circle July 11, 2025, on your calendar, and stay tuned for more teasers to get a taste of this epic saga.
